The Faculty Activity System (FAS) houses data on various activities including UCF faculty research, departmental administrative support, public service, and committee membership. The FAS data collection tool is specifically designed to meet FL BOG reporting requirements, and it also serves as a data source for the NSF Higher Education Research & Development (HERD) survey and UCF Teaching Incentive Program (TIP).

With the move to Workday in the summer of 2022, FAS required significant modifications to accommodate the new data structure. A few of the modifications required for this conversion included: updating department and cost center codes, updating pay and benefits mapping, updating budget and course records, and reassigning security.

As soon as the updates were complete last month, IKM began rolling out 2022-23 FAS data validation starting with Summer 2022 data. The Summer 2022 FAS term is officially open for validation and will close on Friday, October 13th. This term is unique because it contains both PeopleSoft and Workday data due to the Summer A session occurring prior to the Workday implementation date. The data for the remaining Summer 2022 sessions (and all future sessions) comes from Workday. Fall 2022 and Spring 2023 validations will be rolled out throughout the next few months.

As part of the FAS validation process, departmental contacts are asked to assign and approve the percentage of time that employees in their area spent on different activity types during the term. This validation is currently being complete in PeopleSoft Campus Solutions. If you are a departmental contact that needs access to FAS or would like to request training, please contact fassupport@ucf.edu.
